Senior Wellbeing Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Student Services for a proactive and compassionate Senior Wellbeing Coordinator to join our Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (Life Lounge). 

 

The successful candidate will have credible experience working with individuals experiencing complex mental health difficulties; risk assessing and following crisis management protocols. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of psychological interventions and experience working within a HE setting.

 

The Senior Wellbeing Coordinator will oversee a triage service to students seeking access to mental health and wellbeing support, identifying risks and safeguarding concerns in a timely manner, and facilitating appropriate onward referrals within the university or via external agencies/partnerships.

 

Knowledge of local Mental Health and Third Sector organisations and a background of managing risk in a high-pressure environment is required for this role.

 

The Senior Wellbeing Coordinator will hold the position of Deputy Safeguarding Officer, providing advice/guidance to a wide range of university stakeholders around effective safeguarding practices. The role will also support the implementation of the university’s Dignity at Study policy and procedure.

 

The Senior Wellbeing Coordinator will provide effective line management and support to the wellbeing team, working closely with the Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager to implement strategic developments to further enhance the service.

 

The successful candidate will have effective written and verbal communication skills and be able to maintain a confidential, helpful and cooperative manner when working under pressure.   
 

They should be committed to working with a diverse student body and be able to show sensitivity to individual differences. In order to meet the needs of the University and Student Services, a flexible approach to working patterns/hours is an essential requirement of this role. The successful candidate will be able to manage competing deadlines and have the ability to use their own initiative.
